Arrest made after missing Fayette County woman found dead

A 36-year-old man is accused of murder after a missing 21-year-old woman was found dead, wrapped in a blanket, in a wooded area.

Michael Wade Tucker was the last person known to be with the victim, Laci Whitson. He was tracked down and arrested on June 29, within 24 hours of Whitson’s discovery.

Police investigated the crime scene, collected evidence, and charged Tucker within 24 hours.

The investigation is ongoing and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office will release more information as it becomes available.
