Four people hospitalized after accident near Sioux Center on Monday

Sioux Center, Iowa – Four people, including drivers from Ireton and George, were taken to a hospital following a crash Monday, July 1, 2024, near Sioux Center.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 2:50 p.m., 59-year-old Lynnette Reekers of Ireton was driving a 2021 Ford Explorer eastbound on 410th Street, one mile east of Sioux Center. They tell us that 18-year-old Quinn Master of George was driving a 2006 Honda Accord northbound on Hickory Avenue and the vehicles collided at the intersection.

The damage to Reekers Ford was about $15,000 and to Master Honda about $4,000.

Sioux Center ambulance transported Reekers, Masters and two passengers in Masters’ vehicle to Sioux Center Health.

Reekers was charged with failing to yield the right of way when entering a thoroughfare.

The Sioux Center Fire Department, Sioux Center EMS and Sioux Center Police Department assisted in responding to the accident, the sheriff’s office said.
