Lake Houston drowning victim identified –

On Wednesday, June 26, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Platte County Sheriff’s Office officers responded to a possible drowning at Houston Lake in southern Platte County. Upon arrival, officers located a group of unresponsive males floating in the water near the dock. The male was removed from the water and transported to North Kansas City Hospital, where the victim was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Eric L. Stephens, a 52-year-old white male residing in Houston Lake. This incident remains under investigation by Platte County Sheriff’s Office detectives, but foul play is not suspected at this time.
