Fire investigation underway after house fire in Bartonville

BARTONVILLE, Ill. (WMBD) – Firefighters from the Bartonville Fire Department responded to a house fire early Tuesday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the fire department, firefighters responded to 16 Sandalwood Lane at 3 a.m. after receiving a report of a bedroom fire at the home. When firefighters arrived at the home, they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the bedroom windows.

The fire was extinguished a short time later, the post said.

No injuries were reported and the pets were found safe outside the home.

Two people left homeless by electrical fire in their South Peoria home

Authorities from Limestone Township and West Peoria provided mutual aid in this incident.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
