Iowa City Woman Arrested on Child Abuse Charges | KCII Radio

On Sunday, the Washington Police Department arrested 58-year-old Rhonda Goodwin of Iowa City on charges of dependent adult abuse, a Class D felony. Following an investigation by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the Washington Police Department, the victim’s bank statements were obtained obtained, which revealed that he had purchased alcohol on several occasions. On May 1, an Iowa Department of Public Health representative and an officer met with Goodwin, where she admitted to using the victim’s account to purchase alcohol. The estimated value of alcohol purchases from November 6, 2023 through April 8, 2024 is $1,475.00. Goodwin is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
