Early morning motorcycle accident: One person has to go to hospital

MARCY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — One person is in the hospital following an early morning crash on Tuesday, July 2, according to New York State Police.

At approximately 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, police officers were called to the intersection of Old River Road and Joe Kelly Memorial Road in the Town of Marcy for a motorcycle and car crash. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle – 35-year-old Julius Daniels of Rome – was traveling eastbound on Old River Road when he attempted to make a left turn.

As he attempted to turn onto Joe Kelly Memorial Road, a motorcycle – driven by 38-year-old Michael Sweezey of Whitesboro – was traveling westbound on Old River Road.
