Woman raped by man she met through dating app

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old woman was raped by a man she met through a dating app in the perpetrator’s photography studio on the premises of SR Nagar police station.

On June 24, the accused Rajashekar, 30, called the survivor to his studio in SR Nagar PS area and raped her. The survivor initially filed a complaint at Uppal police station, but the case was later transferred to SR Nagar police station.

While police have so far remained tight-lipped about releasing details of the case, they have urged the public to be more cautious when using dating apps.
