31-year-old Texas husband kills wife’s dog because she allegedly loved him more than him: police

A Texas man is said to have brutally killed his wife’s dog because she allegedly loved it more than him, police said.

Pengfei Ji, 31, allegedly inflicted serious injuries on his wife’s Pomeranian during an argument at their Richmond home Friday night, the Fort Bend County 1st District Police Chief’s Office said.

Ji allegedly picked up the small dog by its hind legs and threw it over his shoulder into a doghouse several times before leaving the body in the yard, Click2Houston reported, citing surveillance footage.

Ji accused his wife of loving their dog more than him, ABC13 added.

The couple took the injured dog to a veterinarian in Cinco Ranch, where he was pronounced dead.

The veterinarian called local authorities to report the incident, the police officer’s office said.

Ji was subsequently arrested and charged with third-degree animal cruelty.

He could also be charged with tampering with evidence for deleting the incriminating surveillance footage from his wife’s phone after police viewed it, ABC13 reported.

The officer who originally saw the video noted in his report that he never wanted to see the disgusting footage again, the news agency reported.

“This just leaves me speechless,” said Constable Chad Norvell of the disturbing arrest.

“I am glad that we were able to put him in prison and that he will be brought to justice for his cruel actions. I would like to express my condolences to his wife on the loss of her beloved companion.”

The Fort Bend County Police Precinct 1 Office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
