Police issue arrest warrant for man accused of raping child in Gettysburg

According to court records, police have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of raping a child in Adams County.

Warren Schelhaus, 40, identified in 2022 court documents as a resident of East Berlin, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police in court documents dated Monday, June 24, 2024, with rape of a child, sexual assault of a minor, aggravated sexual assault, sexual battery and sexual assault of a child.

According to court documents, police have been unable to determine Schelhaus’ whereabouts since the investigation began in 2023.

According to a police affidavit, Schelhaus allegedly raped a child in Gettysburg County. The incident is believed to have occurred between 2014 and 2016.
