Imo Assembly in turmoil as four members suspended amid impeachment talks

The Imo State House of Representatives was plunged into controversy on Tuesday after four lawmakers were suspended.

The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chike Olemgbe, on Tuesday announced the suspension of the four members over an alleged plot to remove his son from office.

The suspended MPs included Samuel Otuibe representing Ahiazu-Mbaise; Henry Agbasonu of Ezinihitte-Mbaise; Chidiebere Ogbunikpa representing Okigwe and Dominic Ezerigha representing Oru-West.

The spokesman said the decision to suspend her was made at a board meeting.

He also announced that all standing committees of the suspended members had been relieved of their duties.
