I-70 closed near I-225 westbound in Aurora due to crash | Traffic

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 are closed Thursday morning in Aurora due to a vehicle accident that backed up traffic for several miles; to Tower Road.

Aurora Police are responding to the accident this morning and delays are expected for most of the morning as vehicles are rerouted around the scene.

The westbound lanes of I-70 were closed starting at Chambers Road around 5:15 a.m. According to Aurora police, it is not yet known when the highway will reopen.
