One dead in traffic accident in Fayette County

One person was killed in a traffic accident in rural Fayette County on Monday, according to an Iowa State Patrol accident report.

The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday at the unpaved gravel intersection of X Avenue and 240 Street in rural Fayette County.

A 2000 Chevrolet S10 traveling south on X Avenue and a 2007 Ford Edge traveling west on 240th Street collided at the intersection. The driver of the Chevy, Joshua Lee Quail, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.

The other driver, 58-year-old Diana Lynn Mohlis, suffered minor injuries diagnosed by medical personnel on scene.

According to the accident report, the accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
