OBITUARY: William Houston Bryant – Sumner County Source

William Houston Bryant Obituary

William Houston Bryant, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on December 7, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to loving parents Arthur Houston and Willie Kate Bryant.

William led a full life as co-owner of Above Standard Building Maintenance and dedicated 22 years to the National Guard before retiring. His work ethic and dedication were evident in everything he did. Those who knew William remember him as a caregiver, a friendly face to everyone he met, a man of God, and above all, a hard worker.

In his free time, William found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, mowing his lawn with precision, and scrolling through his phone while listening to country music. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family. One of his fondest memories was grilling with his loved ones.

William’s greatest pride is the family he built with his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Bryant. Together, they raised three wonderful children: sons, Chris (Rachel) Bryant and John (Rachel) Bryant and daughter, Michelle Hutcherson. His grandchildren Robert Morgan, Ashley Bryant, Makayla Bryant, CJ Bryant, Kelby Driver, Ella Bryant and great-granddaughter Ivy Morgan were the apple of his eye.

He is also survived by his siblings Sheila (Mike) Sweeney and Kenneth Bryant. William will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation services for William Houston Bryant will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Springfield Tennessee on July 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on July 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at the same location on July 3 at 11:00 a.m.

William’s absence leaves a void in the lives of many, but his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
