Braves trade Luis Guillorme to Angels, report says

It appears there are changes coming to the Atlanta Braves bench. The Braves are trading infielder Luis Guillorme to the Los Angeles Angels according to a report from Daniel Alvarez-Montes. The return is unknown at this time and neither team has officially announced the move.

Guillorme signed a one-year major league contract with the Braves during the offseason. He played sparingly, although he only appeared in 10 games with a 3-for-20 record at the plate. Most of that playing time came while Ozzie Albies was on the injured list with a broken toe. He last appeared in the game on May 4 as a pinch hitter against the Dodgers. It was his first appearance since April 24.

With David Fletcher in Gwinnett, the Braves had some flexibility with their relief spots in the field. Guillorme’s return will be light and could simply be the return of monetary considerations. The move would open up a spot for Fletcher on the 40-man roster.

We will update as soon as more details become available.
