Oman Embassy denies claims it suspended visas for Egyptian citizens

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo has confirmed that it has not suspended tourist visas for Egyptians wishing to visit the Sultanate.

In a recent statement, the government denied rumors that it had suspended tourist visas for Egyptians, while clarifying that reports of the ban on tourist visas “for Egyptians are false,” VisaGuide.World reports.

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Arab Republic of Egypt would like to point out that the rumors that the Sultanate of Oman has suspended tourist visas for Egyptians wishing to travel to the Sultanate of Oman are false.

The embassy also urged the public to visit the Royal Oman Police website for reliable information.

The visa requirements for Oman for Egyptian citizens currently include the following conditions:

• Be a resident of a Gulf Cooperation Council country
• Do you hold a residence card issued by a GCC member state
• Visiting as a tourist
• Stay of no more than 28 days

Since 2023, 103 countries worldwide can enter Oman without a visa

In March last year, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a list of 103 nationalities that can enter the Sultanate without a visa for 14 days. It also stated that the Royal Oman Police (ROP) will manage the visa procurement process for visitors to the Sultanate.

In this context, citizens of the GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) do not need a visa to enter Oman. On the other hand, citizens of the following countries can enter Oman without a visa for 14 days:

• Sweden
• Norway
• Italy
• Bulgaria
• Switzerland
• Croatia
• Hungary
• Serbia
• Georgia
• Denmark
• Germany
• Greece
• Belgium
• Romania
• Finland
• Cyprus
• Ukraine
• Spain
• Czech Republic
• Austria,
• Ireland
• Great Britain
• Russia
• China
• United States
• Türkiye
• South Korea
• New Zealand
• Australia
• Indonesia
• Taiwan
• Canada
• Malaysia
• Singapore

In addition, Indian citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council who hold entry visas for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Schengen countries and Japan can also enter visa-free.

This rule also applies to citizens of countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Albania, Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Vietnam, Bhutan, Guatemala, Belarus, Cuba, Panama, Peru, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco and Egypt.

Tourists from all the above countries can apply for an extension of their 14-day visa to one month for a fee of 20 OMR ($51.96).
