Police officer hospitalized after two-vehicle accident on 30th Street in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA (July 2, 2024) – A driver and an officer suffered minor injuries in a two-car crash at the corner of 30th Street and Avenue I.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the two-car crash occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. While a Lancaster Sheriff’s deputy was responding to an emergency call, his patrol car crashed into a motorist despite its lights and siren being on.

The impact caused the patrol car to overturn.

Shortly thereafter, emergency services arrived and took the officer and the driver of the other car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

At this time, investigators have not said whether the accident was caused by speed, drunk driving or distracted driving, but they are continuing to investigate the case.
