Mesa police develop new way to report illegal fireworks

PHOENIX – Mesa Police have developed a new method for residents to report the use of illegal fireworks.

Starting this week, citizens can report the use of illegal fireworks through the city’s official website (mesaaz.gov).

To file a report, go to mesaaz.gov and look for the following tabs: “Residents,” then “Police,” then “Report Fireworks.”

From this point on, residents can submit a request or create an anonymous request before submitting a complaint, which will create an email that will be sent to a specific mailbox.

To ensure that no complaint is overlooked, the fireworks mailbox is constantly monitored.

Once a complaint is confirmed by police, officers are sent to the area to investigate.

To further combat illegal fireworks activities, Mesa police officers were assigned to fireworks duty on the Fourth of July.

In addition, Mesa Police and Fire Departments will continue to monitor tents where fireworks are sold.

We want to hear from you.
