Chicago police sound the alarm after thieves steal U.S. Postal Service trucks in the Northwest and West

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police warned of a series of mail thefts from mail trucks in the west and northwest parts of the city.

According to police, three unoccupied USPS vehicles were hit within less than two hours.

The crimes occurred in:

-4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue on July 1 from 4:05 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.,

-6300 block of West Strong Avenue on July 1 at 4:21 p.m.,

-900 block of South Mayfield Avenue on July 1 at 5:45 p.m.

In each case, two men wearing hoodies, face masks, and blue plastic gloves parked next to the USPS vehicle, smashed the passenger window, and stole mail and packages. They fled in a white SUV.
