Investigations are underway following a fire in Oakland/Berkeley Hills on Grizzly Peak Blvd.

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) – Emergency crews extinguished a fire Monday evening that destroyed a two-acre area in the Oakland/Berkeley Hills above the UC Berkeley campus.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., fire engines from Oakland, Berkeley and Contra Costa County were dispatched to Centennial Dr. and Grizzly Peak Blvd.

According to the fire department, no one was injured and no danger to buildings was identified.

It is unclear what started the fire, but ABC7 News crews found what appeared to be a box of fireworks on the side of the road.

Firefighters said they had received an initial report of illegal fireworks being set off in the area, but did not find anyone.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
