Thomasville police investigating West Main Street homicide, department said

WITH A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED. CHRISTINE DAVONTE AND LINDSEY HIGH POINT POLICE SAID A PERSON WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER A GUN WAS FIRED DURING A BURGLARY. POLICE CAME TO AVERY AVENUE EARLY THIS DAY. PEOPLE INSIDE THE HOUSE TOLD THEM SOMEONE BREAKED A WINDOW TO GET INTO THE HOUSE AND POLICE SAY SOMEONE INSIDE THE HOUSE FIRED A GUN AT THE SUSPECT, WHO THEN FLEW. POLICE SAY THE PERSON LATER SHOWED UP AT A HOSPITAL WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND. POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED ALL INVOLVED BUT HAVE NOT ANNOUNCED ANY ARRESTS. A DAVIE COUNTY DEPUTY HAS RESIGNED AFTER BEING INVOLVED IN TWO ACCIDENTS, ACCORDING TO THE DAVIE COUNTY SHERIFF. HANNAH WHITTINGTON IS RESIGNING JUNE 18. STATE HIGHWAY PATROL POLICE SAY SHE CAUSED TWO ACCIDENTS LAST MONTH BY DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE ON HIGHWAY 58 AND MILLING ROAD. BOTH WHITTINGTON AND THE OTHER DRIVER WERE INJURED IN THE SECOND ACCIDENT. SHE WAS SUSPENDED BEFORE HER RESIGNATION AND A MAJOR RULING BY THE SUPREME COURT IN THE A63 DECISION. JUDGES HAVE FOUND THAT PRESIDENTS ARE NOT ABSOLUTELY IMMUNE FROM PROSECUTION. THE RULING STATES THAT PRESIDENTS ARE IMMUNE AND CANNOT BE PROSECUTED FOR AN OFFICIAL ACT WHILE IN OFFICE. HOWEVER, THEY CAN BE PROSECUTED FOR ACTS NOT PART OF THEIR OFFICIAL DUTIES. THE CASE NOW GOES BACK TO THE LOWER COURT TO DETERMINE WHAT CHARGES WILL BE BROUGHT AGAINST FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP IN THE FEDERAL ELECTION INTERFERENCE CASE. THE CHARGES WILL BE DETERMINED AS OFFICIAL OR UNOFFICIAL AND WE WILL HAVE A LIVE REPORT FROM OUR WASHINGTON OFFICE ON THAT VERDICT AT 3 PM IN THE STUDIO.

Detectives with the Thomasville Police Department are conducting a death investigation in the 300 block of West Main Street.On July 1 at 10:03 p.m., officers responded to a call about a shooting. Arriving officers found an adult male who had died from his injuries, police said.Thomasville Police said they have identified a suspect. Thomasville Police Detectives are investigating a death in the 300 block of West Main Street.

On July 1 at 10:03 p.m., officers responded to a call about a shooting. Arriving officers found an adult male who had succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Thomasville police said they have identified a suspect. Information on that person has not yet been released.
