Kristen Stewart’s open quotes about sexuality and her coming out as queer

Kristen Stewart came out as queer in the middle of her Saturday Night Live Host debut.

“I’m a little nervous about hosting because I know the president is probably watching and, um, I don’t think he likes me very much,” Stewart joked in her monologue in February 2017, referring to the former president. Since coming out, Stewart has dated people like Alicia Cargile, St. Vincent, Special Task Force, Stella Maxwell And Dylan Meyers. Stewart and Meyer got engaged in 2021.

Months earlier, Stewart confirmed her romance with Cargile before telling Elle She was “not ashamed” to go out with a woman.

“I’m not confused,” she said. “Things have changed. And not just for me – we can really encourage this new acceptance and be great.”

She told the Sunday News that she came out SNL because it “just seemed important and timely” to her and denied that she went out with Pattinson out of confusion.

“I didn’t hide anything,” Stewart noted. “I didn’t talk about my first relationships, which became public, because I wanted to own the things that were mine. I hated that details of my life were commodified and sold around the world. But with so many eyes on me, I suddenly realized that (my private life) affected more people than just me. It was an opportunity to give up a little bit of what was mine to make even one other person feel good.”

Since his coming out, Stewart dusk in a new light, although it focuses on a heterosexual love triangle between a human girl, a vampire boy, and a werewolf.

“I don’t think it necessarily started that way, but I also think the fact that I was there at all made it seep through,” Stewart said diversity. “It’s such a gay movie. I mean, Jesus Christ, Taylor (Lautner) and Rob and I, and it’s so hidden and not OK. I mean, a Mormon (Stephenie Meyer) wrote this book. It’s about oppression, about wanting what destroys you. It’s a very gothic, gay thing that I love.”

“I feel like I’ve seen a lot of male pubic hair on the front pages of things. I’ve seen a lot of hands in pants,” she said at the Late Show with Stephen Colbert“I think there’s a certain open recognition of a female sexuality that has a will of its own, in a way that annoys sexist and homophobic people.
