Toledo man injured in violent hacking incident; suspect in custody









A violent altercation resulted in a hacking in Jacintoville, Toledo on Saturday. The incident occurred when a complainant came out of his apartment and found Melvin Alcaraz in his bathroom. As a result of the incident, Alcaraz sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. He is now reportedly in stable condition.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Commanding Officer of the Eastern Division: “On Saturday, June 29, 2024, police responded to a hacking incident in Jacinto Village in Toledo County. Upon arrival, they saw a certain Melvin Alcaraz with hacking wounds. A complainant stated that he was home when he heard noises. He came out and saw Melvin Alcaraz naked in one of his bathrooms. The complainant stated that he was concerned as he had previously reported that Alcaraz had broken into his home and assaulted someone there. Alcaraz was taken for treatment. His condition is stable and under investigation.”

The circumstances of this incident are being investigated.
