$2 Million Settlement Approved by Atlanta City Council

Two Atlanta University students who were arrested by police during protests in the summer of 2020 have now been awarded $2 million in restitution. The Atlanta City Council approved the settlement late this afternoon by a vote of 13-1. The arrests of the students, from Morehouse and Spelman universities, made national headlines and led to the arrests of six police officers.
