Washington 1-10 line from Beaumont to Houston closed due to large crack

BEAUMONT, Texas (KTRK) — A major crack on 1-10 forced crews to close the freeway in the southbound lanes from Washington to Houston, according to Beaumont police.

Beaumont police said vehicles also cannot pass under the Washington Bridge.

All traffic on Washington will be diverted north or south on I-10 service roads, where officers are directing traffic.

If you are heading east on the west side of Highway 1-10 near Golden Corral, officials say you will be detoured south (right) onto the service road.

If you are heading west on Washington, on the east side of 1-10, near the Shell gas station, officials say you will be detoured north (right) onto the 1-10 service road toward Sam’s.

Beaumont Police Department advises drivers to be careful and vigilant.
