Suspect arrested after robbery in Olive Branch

July 1 – Olive Branch Police said officers responded to a robbery call from the city of Olive Branch at approximately 6:15 a.m. this morning and later arrested the suspect in the case.

When they arrived, officers received a detailed description from the victim of the suspect in the case, the vehicle he drove away in, and the direction he was traveling.

The vehicle was located and a pursuit began until it was wrecked in the area of ​​9815 Goodman Road.

Rakeem Jaquise Woodley, 26, of 6873 Dogwood Manor West, was taken into custody and faces charges of robbery, auto theft and other lesser offenses in connection with the incident.

In addition, police learned that Woodley had previously been arrested for a serious crime in his home state of Wisconsin.

Police said they would seek the maximum sentence in connection with the incident because the suspect led the victim to believe his life was in danger, even though no weapon was visible at the time of the alleged incident.
