Ray J says he is ‘suicidal’ after BET Awards incident

Ray J appeared to call for help shortly after he got into a scuffle with Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer outside rapper GloRilla’s BET Awards after-party.

In his Instagram story on Monday (July 1), the “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” star published a detailed statement in which he revealed that he was “truly at a turning point.”

“Providing for my family and having generational wealth was always the plan. But money is evil and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore!” he wrote.

He added: “This shit that’s going on right now is mind-boggling. It’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality.”

“These chain reactions stem from me being trapped in a false reality / confused about life at large! – The shit that happened to me tonight at the awards ceremony was hurtful.”

Furthermore, the 43-year-old claimed that the organisers of the annual awards ceremony prevented him from enjoying the festivities. “I don’t know who they were trying to keep from me. It was weird,” he claimed. “Anyway, I left and went back to quell my frustration. When I think back to my everyday thoughts, the truth that is being told is a LIE!”

In a dramatic twist, Ray turned his attention to his sister Brandy, vowing he would “make it up to her” and “not let her get away with it,” but remained vague on the details.

“YOU PAID ME TO KEEP THE BITCH UP AND I DID IT! I FEEL BAD AND HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DON’T WANT ANY MORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!,” he added. “I promise you I will be (free) from all of this and the world can move on with what is real to me no matter what consequences I face on the other side.”

“I tried to do it for real last time,” he said goodbye, subtly mentioning that he was on his way out of the country.

The statement follows a video circulating online showing Ray J and Plummer engaging in heated arguments in a large entourage. While security tried to intervene, the singer persisted, grabbed his bag and tried to approach Plummer from another side. After some shouts from friends, Ray returned to his vehicle and drove away. It is unclear what Ray J had in his backpack at the time of the incident.
