Delmar man arrested for harassment in stolen vehicle

REHOBOTH BEACH, Delaware – A Delmar man was arrested on numerous charges Sunday afternoon during a suspicious person investigation.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., an officer was called to the Walmart at 18922 Rehoboth Mall Boulevard for a report of a suspicious person. The officer learned that a man had been following the victim during the storm, which caused her concern. After the victim left the store, the man reportedly got into a white GMC Sierra and continued to follow her while she was in the parking lot.

The officer who arrived on the scene found the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Jordan Newberry, inside the Grocery Outlet at Rehoboth Mall. Newberry was arrested and the officer found his white GMC Sierra with Maryland registration in the parking lot. He noted that it had been reported stolen to the Salisbury Police Department the previous day.

Newberry was arraigned and held at SCI on $6,000 bail.
