Two people arrested in major drug raid following Ontario County investigation

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and several other agencies conducted an extensive investigation that resulted in two arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, firearms and vehicles.

On Wednesday, June 26, Ontario County issued seven search warrants and Monroe County issued 13 warrants as a result of a seven-month investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics in Ontario County, particularly in the Geneva area.

The investigation was conducted by multiple local, regional, state and federal agencies, including the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Geneva and Canandaigua Police Departments, Monroe County Sheriff’s Offices and several others.

As a result of the investigation and execution of the search warrant, the following was seized:

  • Six kilograms of cocaine
  • Two kilograms of heroin and fentanyl
  • 100 ecstasy pills
  • 100 Fentanyl tablets
  • 34 Oxycodone pills
  • 130 grams of methamphetamine
  • 72 bottles of liquid suspected to be a tranquilizer for animals
  • 2.6 pounds of marijuana
  • 9 firearms (6 from Monroe County, 3 from Geneva)
  • $150,000 in cash
  • 14 Motor vehicles

The two people arrested during the investigation are 51-year-old Reinaldo Suarez and 30-year-old Oscar Alvarado.

Both men were charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. They are being held without bail in the Monroe County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and MPs believe that charges may be brought against other people, but no further information can be released at this time.
