Road closures and lane reductions in Buffalo, Wheatfield and Evans starting in early July

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Construction season is here and with it, a number of travel advisories are being issued for cities across Western New York.

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and expect delays in Buffalo, the City of Wheatfield and Evans. See advisories below.


Buffalo

Beginning 7 a.m. July 8, Main Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Robie Street to Glendale Place. Left turns from westbound Humboldt Parkway to southbound Main Street and from southbound Main Street to eastbound Humboldt Parkway will not be permitted. The restrictions are expected to end 3 p.m. July 20.

Wheat field

Should remain in place for a monthNational Route 429, also known as Neighborhood roadwill be closed near Sawyer Creek beginning July 8. The north end of the US 62 intersection will be affected. Motorists are advised to follow the designated detour.

Evans

National Route 5 will be reduced to a single traffic lane, from July 8, from South Creek Road. towards Stainton Road. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph and traffic lights will be temporarily installed at the South Creek and Stainton intersections. The reductions and reduced speed limit are expected to last until November.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones.
