A North Carolina woman has been identified after she was fatally shot, according to police

SHELBY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A woman has died after being shot Monday night, according to Shelby police.

On Monday, May 6, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 600 block of Live Oak Street at approximately 7:45 p.m.


When they arrived, 62-year-old Sarah Chambers was lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound, officials said. She was transported to a local hospital by Cleveland County first responders. Police say she died in hospital.

The initial investigation revealed that there was an argument that resulted in shots being fired. However, Chambers was not involved in this dispute.
