Edgewood man arrested in connection with Harford Mall shooting

EDGEWOOD, MD – The Harford County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of the suspect involved in the shooting at Harford Mall on June 2, 2024.

On Sunday, the HCSO announced that the Warrant Unit was able to track down and arrest 35-year-old Wesley Larry Lyons of Edgewood.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office worked with Bel Air Police to arrest Lyons. Using advanced technology, officers were able to track the suspect’s movements and determine his location in Anne Arundel County. Through extensive physical surveillance, they were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and determine the exact hotel room where he was staying.

With this important information, Bel Air Police Department investigators obtained a search warrant for the hotel room. Working with the Anne Arundel County Police Department SWAT, suspect Lyons was arrested without incident shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday. Following his arrest, Lyons was transferred to the custody of the Bel Air Police Department, where he will be charged with the shooting.
