Dylan Dreyer’s son Russell needs stitches after incident

Dylan Dreyer spoke about being a mother to a boy after her youngest son, Russell, suffered an incident that resulted in him needing stitches.

The Today The host wrote on Instagram on Sunday, June 30, “3 boys and this is our first cut! I would have never bet on Rusty being the first! And then I made gluten free hamburger buns after vacuuming Calvin’s busted chin with my t-shirt. A real boy mom!!”

Dylan, 42, shares with her husband Russell, 2, and sons Calvin and Oliver Brian Fichera. The meteorologist posted photos of Russell’s injury, as well as a picture of him smiling after his wound was stitched up. 7-year-old Calvin also beamed in a photo after injuring his chin.

Fans praised Dylan for being a great mother to her three little boys and for always admitting everything well.

“Being a mom to a boy is not for the faint of heart, but there is nothing better! Hope he gets better soon! You are an amazing mom,” said one comment under the post.

Another person wrote: “I love how real you are. Some TV personalities wouldn’t post a picture where there is blood on their shirt or their hair isn’t perfect. Thank you for being a real mother and wife.”

Last month, Dylan celebrated Mother’s Day and a special milestone for her eldest son.

“First Communion, family and Mother’s Day!! What a special weekend!! #soblessed,” she wrote on May 12 under a series of photos of her family.

Although Dylan has her hands full with her three children, she spoke openly about whether she and 37-year-old Brian would like to have more children in the future.

“I’m not offended because we asked ourselves the same question. Don’t think that Brian and I haven’t had that conversation. But it’s like, hell no, we’re so done,” she told TODAY.com in November 2022.

“I know my luck and there will be a fourth boy!” she continued.

Dylan currently lives with her family of five in an apartment in New York City, with all three children sharing a room.

“I have all three kids in one room,” she added. “Four just seems crazy to me.”

Dylan had previously shared a photo of her children’s bedroom to silence critics of her living situation.

“‘You need to move,’ they said. ‘You’ll never fit in your apartment,’ they said. ‘Time for a bigger apartment,’ they said. That’s how you do it in NYC. I think they all fit in just fine… for now. #nycliving #my3sons #roommates,” the Misty the Cloud The author captioned a photo from January 2022 on Instagram.

And even though she has experienced plenty of mishaps as a mother herself, Dylan wouldn’t trade motherhood for anything in the world.

“I never thought I would like it so much,” she said Hello! Magazine in March 2023. “Being a mom is the best. I love encouraging her ideas and somehow I also found more patience after becoming a mom.”

“When we decided to have kids, I always wanted three,” the NBC personality said. “I grew up with two brothers, my husband is one of three. Three just feels right for us now.”
