84,000 Volkswagen Golf and Atlas vehicles recalled due to test camera problem – WFTV

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced the recall of more than 84,000 Volkswagen vehicles due to problems with their rearview cameras.

Volkswagen has recalled some 2022 to 2024 Golf R, Golf GTI, Atlas and Atlas Cross Sports vehicles after discovering that the rearview camera image could be delayed or disabled when the vehicle is placed in reverse, the NHTSA said.

The dealers will install an update to the infotainment system in the vehicle free of charge.

Owners will be notified of the recall after August 23, but can also contact Volkswagen directly at 800-893-5298. The company’s internal recall number is 91US.
