Multi-vehicle, patrol car crash on Palmetto Expressway – NBC 6 South Florida

Significant traffic delays occurred Monday after a man was hospitalized in the southbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway after a Sunny Isles Police cruiser was involved in a multi-vehicle crash.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the accident occurred on NW 25th Street near Doral. Five cars were involved, including a Sunny Isles Police cruiser. One man was taken to the hospital as a trauma patient.

Due to the accident, several lanes of the southbound Palmetto Expressway were closed, but later reopened.

At this time, authorities have not released any further information on the condition of the other drivers involved in the accident.
