Man killed in hit-and-run accident on Highway 15 in Laval

Provincial police are searching Thursday for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 15 at the north end of Laval.

Preliminary information suggests that a motorist was changing a tire on the northern shoulder of the highway at the Gédéon-Ouimet Bridge at around 5:20 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle

Police are not yet confirming the condition of this person, but a spokesman for Urgences-santé confirmed that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Although the accident occurred on the north side, traffic was backed up for at least 10 kilometers on the south side of the highway.
