One dead in Bright apartment fire – WRBI Radio

(Bright, IN) – A man died in an apartment fire in Bright Friday afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m., firefighters were called to a residential building on Basket Lane.

At the time the fire broke out, there were six people in the building, but one of them was unable to leave the building.

The victim’s name was not released.

Three people who were left homeless by the fire received help from the Red Cross.

Two firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.

The state fire commissioner is investigating the cause of the fatal fire.

The Bright Fire Department received assistance from the Lawrenceburg, Greendale, Miller-York and Harrison, Ohio fire departments.
