Goa University assistant professor sacked for sexually assaulting student – Goemkarponn

TALEIGAO: The University of Goa has dismissed an assistant professor for allegedly sexually harassing a student of his department.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s family at the Panaji Women’s Police Station, the teacher had sexually harassed the student by calling her to his cabin.
The incident was reported to the Panaji Women’s Police Station by the victim’s father, alleging that the assistant professor had invited the girl to his cabin where he touched her twice without permission.
According to authorities, the father first complained to the university and when the university did not take action, he went to the police.
According to police, the father also contacted an MLA, who then approached the CMO for help.
