A man is charged with road rage incident involving shots fired from a vehicle. Week in Webster Groves.

According to Lt. Jillian McCoy of the Webster Groves Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call of a road rage incident involving shots fired from a moving vehicle near North Laclede Station Road at Newport Avenue around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.

Upon arrival, the victim told officers he was traveling southbound on North Laclede Station Road when he noticed a black Jeep Cherokee enter his lane. He said he honked to warn the driver and then slowed down to let him pass.

The victim said the driver, whom he did not know, then pointed a black handgun at him through the driver’s side window and fired two shots that struck the rear passenger window of his vehicle, McCoy said.

Other officers in the area found a vehicle and driver matching the victim’s description. Using FLOCK camera technology, police also discovered that the same driver and vehicle were at the scene of the accident on the same day and at the same time.

The driver was then identified as Tyree Goolsby, 27, of St. Louis. He was charged with harassment and armed criminal action on June 20, according to the St. Louis County District Attorney’s Office. He was also charged with criminal damage to property. He is being held on $50,000 bail.

A search warrant for Goolsby’s residence was obtained by the St. Louis County District Attorney’s Office and executed after the incident. According to police, a black BB gun was found during the search.

According to electronic court records, Goolsby has multiple traffic violations in several municipalities in the St. Louis area, as well as charges of assault, property damage and failure to appear in court.
