17-year-old girl dies of multiple gunshot wounds; Jacksonville police investigate | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

According to a Jacksonville Police Department press release, police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl that occurred early Sunday morning.

The release states that officers arrived at 1112 Heather Street, about a mile east of U.S. 67/167 in south Jacksonville, around 3:05 a.m. Sunday and found a “17-year-old African-American female … suffering from numerous gunshot wounds.” The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The report also states that the suspect is believed to have fled the scene in a white vehicle.
