Stockton parents arrested for death of one-month-old baby

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA — The parents of a 1-month-old boy have been arrested in connection with the child’s death, Stockton police said Friday.

Robert Meyer Sr., 23, and Sareya Sexton, 23, were charged with murder and child abuse, police said in a Facebook post.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, officials were called to a nearby hospital by medical personnel who reported that a one-month-old boy had suffered numerous injuries consistent with abuse.

Meyer and Sexton were taken to the San Joaquin County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
