Motorcyclist killed after collision with car; Haltom City police investigate

Authorities are investigating a car crash that killed a motorcyclist on Friday, Haltom City police said in a news release.

On Friday at around 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Northeast 28th Street and Higgins Lane for a report of a serious accident.

When emergency responders arrived on scene, they found an adult motorcyclist who had been struck and killed by another vehicle.

Investigators believe the motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and headed toward another vehicle that was attempting to turn. The motorcycle struck the vehicle and slid into the road, where it was struck by an oncoming car, police said.

No further injuries were reported in the collision.

According to police, the Tarrant County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity in due course.

Authorities say they have no reason to believe the collision was criminally motivated.

The Haltom City Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
