Strong to severe storms are possible in North Texas on Thursday

NORTH TEXAS – Today is a weather alert day; Severe storms are possible.

As we move through this Thursday, let’s keep an eye on the weather. We are watching for isolated showers and storms this afternoon and evening as a front remains stationary near North Texas.

Some storms can be strong to severe. Storms are expected to affect our area between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m

The main weather threats are large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado or two. Local flooding is also possible.

Otherwise, we will see mostly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the low 80s. Tonight lows will be in the lower 60s under partly cloudy skies.

On Friday we will see a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be around 80.

We don’t expect any slip-ups over the weekend. In fact, we will see partly sunny skies on Saturday. A late shower is possible, with highs in the upper 70s.

Grab your umbrella this Sunday for Mother’s Day. We will see scattered rain throughout the day. An isolated storm is possible, but the risk of severe weather remains low at this time. Highs will be in the low 70s.

The storms will continue into Monday. Highs will be in the low 80s.
