Family identifies Houston lawyer as man killed after trying to calm angry customer at McDonald’s near Katy Freeway

HOUSTON – Family members have identified a Houston attorney as the man who died after trying to calm an angry customer at a west Houston McDonald’s Saturday.

Jeffrey Limmer, an attorney with the Lewis Brisbois Law Firm, died after the client shot him twice, according to family members.

Houston police said it happened around 6 p.m. Saturday at the McDonald’s located at 8147 Katy Freeway.

Police say the shooter was unhappy with his order, wanted a refund and was arguing with staff. Limmer allegedly tried to calm down the angry customer, but the customer instead turned his attention to him.

The argument led to the two men ending up outside and police said Limmer pushed the angry customer to the ground. After that, investigators say the suspect grabbed a gun from his car and shot Limmer twice before leaving the scene.

Police described the shooter’s vehicle as a blue Ford pickup truck from the early 2000s.

Police said Limmer ran back into the restaurant after being shot and paramedics were called. Limmer succumbed to his injuries.
