US teacher arrested in New Jersey

New Jersey: US police have arrested a special education teacher at a local middle school for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an underage student, NDTV reported.

The sex crime defendant, 43-year-old Allison Havemann-Niedrach, who worked as a teacher at Freehold Intermediate School, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, NDTV reported, citing Monmouth County District Attorney Raymond S. Santiago.

The New York Post reported that the accused was arrested earlier this week after an investigation uncovered the alleged crime she committed earlier this year. While authorities are not revealing how the crime occurred, how many times she committed the assault or how old the alleged victim was, Freehold Intermediate School accepts students from 6th to 8th grade.

The defendant, Allison, is currently incarcerated in the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold Township.

Allison’s LinkedIn profile suggests she is a special education teacher who started at Freehold Intermediate School in March 2022. She has worked as a teacher or substitute teacher since 2008 and has previously worked at several schools, her profile states.

The defendant’s lawyer stated that she “maintains her innocence” but declined to comment further.

In April, there was more news about the arrest of a teacher in Arkansas by police on charges of sexually assaulting a teenage girl she met at a church.

The New York Post reported that the teacher, 26-year-old Reagan Gray, was arrested after allegedly abusing a 15-year-old while volunteering at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock in 2020.

According to court documents, the survivor’s parents reported the teacher to a pastor at the church after noticing several text messages on their son’s phone. The investigation into the case revealed that she “bombarded” his phone with several nude photos. The defendant chatted with the survivor on Snapchat.
