Suspect arrested in Harford Mall shooting

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Wesley Lyons, the man suspected of shooting a man at a children’s birthday party at the Harford Mall on June 2. Police said Lyons, 35, was arrested and taken into custody Sunday afternoon after he was found at a hotel in Anne Arundel County. Using advanced technology, police were able to trace Lyons to Anne Arundel County and, through physical surveillance, locate his vehicle and the room he was staying in. After his arrest, Lyons was transferred to the Bel Air Police Department, where he will face charges in the shooting. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said it “remains committed to its mission of upholding the law and protecting the citizens of Harford County. We thank the community for their support and patience during this investigation.”

According to police, Lyons, 35, was arrested and taken into custody Sunday afternoon after being found at a hotel in Anne Arundel County.

Using cutting-edge technology, police were able to track Lyons down to Anne Arundel County. Through physical surveillance, they were able to locate his vehicle and the room he was staying in.

After his arrest, Lyons was turned over to the Bel Air Police Department to face charges related to the shooting.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said it remains “committed to its mission of upholding the law and protecting the citizens of Harford County. We would like to express our gratitude to the community for their support and patience during this investigation.”
