1 dead and 1 seriously injured in accident in southern Indiana

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. – One person is dead and another is in serious condition after a rollover crash Sunday in southern Indiana.

Authorities said the vehicle’s passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

However, the driver of the vehicle was flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital with “serious bodily injuries.”

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and Indiana State Police are assisting in reconstructing the collision.

According to official information, the road is currently still closed due to the accident and a fallen power pole.

Motorists are advised to take an alternative route.
