Four boys arrested in Rochdale on suspicion of raping a young girl

Four boys aged between 12 and 14 were arrested in Rochdale on suspicion of rape.

Officers were called to a report of a young woman being raped on Kingsway in Newbold at around 6pm on Saturday.

A 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys were subsequently arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.

A crime scene remains at the scene as Greater Manchester Police continue their investigation.

Pictures show that a parking lot was cordoned off by officials.

Residents reported their shock at the incident in their neighborhood.

A police statement said: “On Saturday 10 February 2024, at around 6pm, officers were called to a report of a rape in Newbold, Rochdale.

“Four boys aged 12, 13, 14 and 14 were arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody. The victim is currently being cared for by specialist officers.

“The crime scene remains on site as officers continue their investigation.”

Police confirmed to The Sun that the alleged victim was a “female child”.
