British woman arrested after video footage allegedly shows prison guard having sex with inmate

According to a statement from the Metropolitan Police, the arrest took place on June 28. “A woman was arrested later that same day on suspicion of abuse of office,” the statement said. The press release also revealed that the woman is 30-year-old Linda De Sousa Abreu, who was charged with abuse of office on June 29.

The police statement does not specifically mention that Abreu was the prison guard who recorded the video, although this is believed to be the case. It is also not known when the alleged clip was recorded; according to the Guardian, the prison guard in the video was wearing a full uniform. Abreu’s court date has been set for July 1.
