Summer storms and increasing heat ahead of July 4th – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Alert meteorologist Corey Simma is monitoring storms and heat ahead of the holiday weekend.

It was as hot as 93 degrees here this afternoon, just above the average of 91.

Isolated storms have appeared, especially inland. Simma expects the rain to be concentrated mainly west and south of Jacksonville this evening.

Monday will be a little hotter and there will be more thunderstorms. The greatest chance of rain will be north of I-10.

From July 4th through the weekend, rainfall will decrease.

From the holiday onwards, temperatures will continue to rise and reach up to 35 degrees Celsius.
