Lake City man arrested for store robbery wearing Halloween mask and Santa shirt – Action News Jax

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – Gary Hollie of Lake City was arrested for robbing a Dollar General on June 12, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers were searching for a man wearing a Santa Claus t-shirt and a Halloween mask. Witnesses told officers the man entered the Dollar General, pulled out a gun and demanded money.

According to a press release, a tip from Crime Stoppers helped investigators identify Hollie.

On June 27, investigators spoke with the suspect. They learned that Hollie was on probation under house arrest. They also saw drug paraphernalia in his yard and Hollie admitted it was his.

While executing a search warrant, detectives found the described items of clothing in a fire pit.

Hollie was arrested and taken to the Columbia County Detention Center.

“I am proud of our sheriff’s deputies and detectives who worked so hard to solve this case. I am also proud of the citizens who worked with us through the Crime Stoppers program. Partnerships between our citizens and law enforcement are vital to the safety of our community,” Sheriff Mark Hunter said in the release.
